Folks, we’re all good here. I hate to put our business all out in the open, but I thought y’all should know why I’m going to be out of stock for a bunch of stuff and why we’ll not be fulfilling orders on Monday. My old man passed away in our home on the 13th. It was a good death. He was surrounded by lots on grandbabies and lots of love and passed in the night. This man always ensured we had some woods nearby to play in and worked hard for his family. If you appreciate what I’m doing with Buck Rail you have him, in part, to thank. Please be patient with us while we mourn for him. I’ll be back at it on Tuesday.

There is so much that I could say, but I’ll just leave you with this obituary from my sister:

“Terry Lee Harman, Sr., 69, resident of Santa Fe, Texas passed from this life, Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Terry was born in Galveston, Texas to parents Ted and Vera Harman on September 6, 1954. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Eric O’Neal. He was raised by his doting grandparents, Anthony and Vera Ollie, in Galveston, Texas. It was there he learned to garden, hunt, fish, crab golf and appreciate all the intricate beauties of God’s creation. He made an art of everything he did, including his lifelong career as a pipeline welder.

Terry took Don McLean’s words to heart: “I can still remember how that music used to make me smile and I knew if I had my chance that I could make those people dance and maybe they’d be happy for a while…”

He was a musician at heart and leaves behind a personal soundtrack to the lives of his loving family; his wife of 44 years, Kimberly Harman; daughters, Sheri Etheridge (Shawn), Julie Harman, Amanda Schanzer (Eric); sons, Daniel Harman, Shane Harman (Emily), Terry Harman Jr. (Jaime); sisters, Amanda McGuire, Christina Drewry; brothers, Randall Harman, David Harman, Johnathan Harman, and Teddy Harman; 18 grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family, friends and colleagues.”

UTG Scopes

We get asked quite a bit for scope recommendations. In the budget category, these UTG compact AO Scopes are hard to beat. I’ve listed the Bug Buster AO Scopes with Dovetail or Pic Rings here: Bug Buster Scopes

I’m in talks with Hawke Sport Optics as well in the hopes that we can offer their Vantage line of scopes. Another great pick in the budget category. Are there any other budget optics y’all would like to see here? We have more of our open glass reflex sights on order. Should be in within two weeks.

UTG Flip-Up Irons

I’ve been a fan of these for a while. Now that we’re making parts for the Umarex Notos it seems a good time to offer these up, as they are perfect for that airgun in it’s OEM stock. The OEM Notos stock is not compatible with the UX iron sights, but these come out at the perfect height on that platform. Check them out here: UTG Super Slim Flip-Up Sights

If folks are interested I can make flip-up iron mounts for all sorts of airguns. I’ve been doing this for a while on my own collection. Just say the word and I’ll make it happen.

Upcoming

I have a lot of new products in the pipeline. Most of them will have to wait until next year as we are very busy fulfilling holiday orders. Here is a short list of what is upcoming in order of priority:

I’m also working on a pretty slick kit for the Umarex Fusion 2. Here’s a little preview:

Huben GK1

After that, I’ll be releasing a few parts for the Huben GK1. I know most of our customers aren’t into $1700 airguns, but this on one is so unique that I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to kit it out. I will be going with commercial-grade fused PA12 Nylon for these parts. Here’s a pic of the first prototype printed up in my garage just for testing.

Personal Note

I’m still caring for my dad full-time and my oldest son and helper just broke his arm after falling off a hay bale… So it’s just me (and there ain’t much of me) printing, post-processing, and assembling parts. Please be patient with us while we get through this tough season. I’m working like a madman to keep up and move us forward. On that note, it’s currently midnight and I still have some work to do.

P-Rod Tactical Kits In Stock Now

P-Rod Kits just dropped. Some folks got a notification before they were released. That was my mistake. Sorry about that. They’re in now and I only have 20. It will likely be a bit before I have more in stock. If they do okay I should be able to make a larger order for trigger assemblies and grip adapters on the next round. P-Rod Kits

The P-Rod release will be first come first serve. I don’t have many of the triggers and restocking will be based on how quickly I can get more from Crosman. The last trigger assembly order took ages…

Also, I’m working on a threaded rear pic adapter that will allow folks to quickly attach and detach pic clamping stocks to the Notos, P-Rod and other kits that have the threaded tube receiver. This was, kind of, a customer suggestion. Here’s a couple of pics of the first prototype on the new P-Rod kit:

The prototype worked out great and I’ll very likely be adding these to the product lineup soon.

I just listed the 34mm clamping bottle adapters from Saber Tactical. I added these because they work well with the Notos, JTS Airacuda, Marauder, and many more airguns. New Grip Options

Did you notice the grip on the P-Rod pic up there^? It’s a Magpul MOE K2. I just got a bunch in and I’ll be offering those in black and FDE. I’ll also be offering their larger K2 XL grips. These grips all have beavertails so you’ll have to be careful to ensure they are compatible. They will work on the Airacuda grip adapter, Beeman 2027/2028 Grip Adapter, Marauder Pistol Grip Adapter, and the upcoming Stormrider Grip Adapter. It’s also possible to fit these to the Diana Chaser Grip adapters with a little bit of filing.

Just a quick update on some new products I just added, items back in stock, and products coming down the line from Buck Rail.

Upgraded Stock Adapters

I told y’all a while back about the new stock adapters I was working on for the Crosman 1377/1322 and 2240 and the Diana Chaser, Airbug, and Bandit. They add the capability of mounting an aluminum MILSPEC AR Extension Tube and the UTG Side Folder. The Crosman adapters work with the OEM airgun. The Diana adapter only works with our tactical conversion kits. I finally have the finished product in hand, but in limited quantities. Check them out here:

DonnyFL QD Adapters

We’ve just added quick disconnect suppressor adapters from DonnyFL. These will allow you to turn your Tatsu, Tanto, Sumo, Koi, etc. into QD suppressors. Check those out here: Old Mod QD Adapters Not only are these just plain cool, but this will also help to ensure your suppressor is clocked the same every time you reinstall or move from airgun to airgun. Checkout Changes

From now on our customers will be required to enter a phone number at checkout. In the early days I required phone numbers. I got a few complaints here and there so I eventually made it optional. That has created some issues for us. We need a phone number for international orders for customs clearance and we need phone numbers so that we can call folks and confirm an order if fraud warnings are triggered by our payment processor, authorize.net. If you’re in the US and not comfortable giving your phone number you can enter random digits. If the order is suspicious (mismatched billing information, etc.) and we cannot reach you we will cancel the order and refund. If it is an international order and an invalid phone number is given we will cancel the order and refund. We do not sell your information and use it in no other way than fulfilling orders. Thank you for your understanding!

UX Origin

The Umarex Origin Tactical design is well underway. I already have the handguard dialed in (It’s an Avenger Handguard for two tubes instead of three) and I’ll place an order for grip adapter prototypes soon.

P-Rod Kits

I have the first P-Rod prototypes in hand. There are some minor changes to be made, but I was able to hand work this one to get it fitted up. It’s a big improvement over the original design. It is more durable, more functional, and has a much improved finish. Just need to remove a little material here and there, order prototypes, test etc. and we’ll be good to go.

A Joke With Promise

I was disappointed when we started the Beeman Marshall Carbine kits and got word from Beeman that they would have to sell us the Marshalls with the chonky wood grips installed. I moved forward anyway and figured we’d find a use for the grips. As our collection built up my sister made a joke that we should turn them into bookends and sell them. As I tend to do sometimes I took the joke very seriously and gave it a shot. I posted some pictures on social media and a friend of ours gave them a name. I present to you Buck Rail’s Buckends:

This will help us keep the price for the Beeman Carbines down, produce less waste, and offer a unique product for the well read airgunner. I already have a few of the plates cut, bent and anodized. I’m just waiting on some threaded inserts and screws to come in and I’ll be ready to list these.

Speaking of the well read, thank you for taking the time to read this little newsletter. If you’ve made it this far, this part is for you. For personal reasons, I’ll be slowing down a bit for the rest of the year. I’ll finish up a few of the projects that I’m currently working on and then focus on keeping up with manufacturing and order fulfillment. I expect I’ll need to conserve my energy for this holiday season anyway. Early next year I’ll be focused on moving my family and the business to a place that will allow us a little more room to work with as both family and business have outgrown the little space we’re in.

Notos Kits

Howdy folks. The release date for the Umarex Notos Kit will be this Friday, 9/29. I plan on putting them in stock at 9am-ish Central time. We only have a limited number. I have more on order. If they go out of stock it won’t be for long. The FDE handguard will come out later. No date on that yet.

P-Rod Kits

I finally got the Marauder trigger assemblies in from Crosman. I like the Notos kit so much that I decided to take the same approach with the P-Rod. I’ve redesigned the grip adapter to receive metal AR extension tubes. Like the Notos grip adapter, it will be made from commercial-grade fused PA12 Nylon. It will accept the metal UTG Side Folder and Beavertail grips as well. I don’t have the protypes in hand yet, but here’s a little preview from the CAD model:

Diana Stormrider Kits

The Stormrider kits are getting a similar update, as well. The new grip adapter will not replace the old style. It will just be offered as another option. I just got this prototype in and it fits great and feels great. I especially like the option of using grips with beavertails. Check it out:

Tube Adapters

While I’m on this UTG Side Folder and AR Tube kick I decided to make adapters for the Crosman 13XX and 2240 line of airguns. I have seen a few out there, but none like the ones I’m working on. They will be a two part design that utilizes the same technique as our stock tubes and rear pic adapters. You’ll replace the hammer spring retention cap with a machined adapter and add a nylon threaded adapter that will clamp to the air tube with a screw threaded into the machined adapter. Confused yet? It’s going to be great. Another unique feature of this tube adapter is that it will look like it’s part of the airgun. Not just slapped on as an afterthought. It is also offset to keep it from protruding into the grip area. I’ll post pics as soon as I have the working prototypes in hand.

I’ll also have this style of adapter available for the Diana Chaser, Bandit, and Airbug soon!

MLok Mounting Pic Rails

I just released a few 21mm Pic Rails that are compatible with our MLok handguards. I 3d print them in black ASA. The lengths coincide with a number of adjacent mlok slots. They are made to cover two, three, or four adjacent full-length mlok slots. They come with the SAE screws and t-nuts needed for mounting and at a budget-friendly price. Crosman Parts

I’ve been surprised that our Crosman parts have sold so well. They can take a lot of time for me to get more. I will be placing larger orders so that we can keep these in stock. We just put more power adjusters in stock. I just got some 24″ .177 and .22 barrels in as well. I will be cutting down some 177s for folks who are having a hard time finding the 14.6″ .177 barrels. I’ll update here when they are listed. I’ve also just added the fiber optic front sights for 7/16 barrels here: Crosman Fiber Optic Front Sight

Umarex SA10 – I’m working on a pretty slick optics mount for the Umarex SA10. It will be fixed to the barrel and will not move with the blowback slide.

Walther CP88 and family – I’m working on an optics mount that replaces the rear sight post for the Walther CP88. It should be compatible with a host of other airguns as well. JC, at Airgun Detectives, will be making a video on that soon.

Umarex Origin – I’m 99% certain that the next AR chassis kit I make will be for the Umarex Origin. That one has been a long time coming and I think it’s finally time.

Umarex Notos and Artemis PP750

I’ve completed the Umarex Notos and PP750 Tactical Conversion Kits. The Grip Adapter is made in the USA using PA12 Fused Nylon. The Side Folder and Extension Tube are made in the USA UTG Pro. The stock option will be Made in the USA Magpul MOE only or no stock. You’ll be able to choose from with or without Cheek Riser. If you want to use the OEM iron sights you won’t want a riser installed. Folks who want to mount a scope, especially with high rings to clear expanded mags, will need that riser. The handguard is mlok, but I’ll also be releasing an affordable, customizable, pic rail kit at the same time. I make the handguard myself from ASA.

I just ordered 40 of the grip adapters. A few of those will go to our friends and we should have about 35 available for the first run. I usually do more on a first run, but if they don’t sell it puts me in a bind. The JTS kit was a BIG punch in the gut. I’m trying something different with these as I’d like to not go broke, if I can help it.

Semi-Auto to Full Auto Conversion Kit

I’ve had this idea for a while, but it’s always been on the backburner as it’s just for my own enjoyment. I had a little time recently to throw something together. Its a kit that uses a small DC gearmotor, cam, and motor controller to fire a semi-auto airgun. The rate of fire is set with a potentiometer. In this particular iteration I’m using a 400 rpm gear motor, but it could just as easily be a 1000 rpm motor if the airgun can cycle that fast. I already had a Hatsan Sortie that I don’t shoot much so I started with that. This is the first “working” prototype. It’s a work in progress. Spoiler alert, it jams a lot.

I’ll likely do the same thing for a Benjamin Semi-Auto Marauder next. Eventually I’ll want to move up to a Bin Tac B&W S45. Stay tuned for that.

Price Increases

I know I know. You came here expecting a sale and I tell you we’re raising prices. There is indeed a one-time big Buck Rail sale coming. I’ll tell you about that next. Many of our 3d printed items are printed in a material called ABS. It’s a great material and has served us well. There is another material that is much like ABS, but has better UV resistance, called ASA. I’ve wanted to switch to ASA for a long time, but I knew it was going to be a big undertaking with over 40 machines running 24/7 and over 100 print variations. Recently, we got news from our supplier that we weren’t going to be able to acquire any ABS for two months. That forced my hand. I put on my man-britches and made the switch. The product will stand up to the outdoors better and the finish will be much improved on many of our accessories. The downfall, it costs three times as much. Don’t worry, I’m not raising prices 300%. The material is a small part of the cost for a lot of our items. The increase will be closer to about 20% on our items that were formerly printed in ABS. The UNF suppressors and other Polycarbonate and MJF Nylon items will not be affected.

Flat Dark Earth

Another benefit of switching to ASA is that I found a beautiful Flat Dark Earth ASA that matched Magpul FDE. It’s even pricier, but it looks amazing. If y’all are interested in this let me know in the comments. What would you like to see in FDE?

The Big Buck Rail Sale

It’s actually not a Labor Day Sale. I want to keep prices low all the time and not play with people’s minds. The reason for the sale is so that y’all can buy up whatever ABS parts you’re are on the fence about before I raise prices. Just a show of good faith to the folks who’ve supported us over the years. Starting September 3rd and running all the way to September 8th all ABS items will be 20% off. Price increases will take affect on September 9th. If you love me, please don’t tell too many folks about it. I’m already maxxed out and I don’t want to get overrun. I also want our loyal customers to be able to get what they’re looking for. If something goes out of stock I’ll be working to restock it ASAP.
