Update: 12/05/2022

UNF Suppressors, Avengers, 13XX, M-Loks, and Babies…

Howdy folks. It’s been a little while. I’ve done a few things since last I typed at you and have many projects in the works. I’ll tell you all about it. But first, let me break some baddish news. I’m going back to work. I’m a Machinist/Designer at Jacobs Technology in support of the JSC Engineering Technology and Science contract. But I’m only a temp. They reach out when they have extra work and I have the time. They recently reached out for help on a cool project, but it would be full time until February or March 2023. It’s a really cool job, but I don’t have the time. And my wife will be due for baby number SIX in April. I always overwork when we’re about to have a baby. I think that’s normal… Right? So anyway, I said “Yes….”

What does this mean for Buck Rail, you ask? Buck Rail will keep truckin’. We’re full steam ahead. My brother, Danny will keep the printers running and shelves stocked, my sister, Julie, will keep fulfilling orders with blazing speed, and my friend, Chris, will continue to be available for anything customer service related. However, I’ll stop making new products for a bit. As much as I love it, that will have to wait until I finish things out with Jacobs next year. Then we’ll see what happens with a brand new baby.

I have been busy designing new products. I will work at releasing them little by little in the coming weeks. I’ve already released two today.

UNF Suppressors

The first is a new option for our UNF suppressors. You can now choose a larger diameter 177/22 or 25 cal suppressor without the taper. Nothing special, but this has been a frequent request from our customers. It is the same diameter and length as our 30 cal suppressor.

1377/1322 Extended Barrel Bands

Another product that I’ve made for a while, but never sold is an extended barrel band for the Crosman 1377 and 1322. Quite a few customers have asked for this and I have sent them here and there without ever listing them. I never felt to good about selling them because they were so easy to break during installation. It never occurred to me until recently to have another company make it stronger with state-of-the-art technology that I don’t currently, otherwise, have access to. Enter Multi Jet Fusion. It’s as cool as it sounds. I’m not going to explain it here. You can google it. That’s how these are made. Made in Idaho, USA from tough Nylon PA12 via Multi Jet Fusion. The same material and process that is used to make our 13XX suppressor adapter. We only have 20 in stock, but we have more on order. Avenger Tactical Conversion

I have other items that have been designed and tested, but I’m working on getting enough printed to release them. One that has been in the works for a while is the Air Venturi Avenger Tactical Conversion. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but I’m finally done with the design. Just need to dial in the prints and get a few parts in. Coming soon…

M-Lok Handguards

I’ve gotten a lot of requests for adding M-Lok slots to forearms, rails, etc. I was hesitant only because I didn’t expect 3d printed M-Lok slots to hold up under load. But I’ve done some testing and the results are fantastic. I want to put M-Loks on everything now. It allows for so much more customization, provides for a more comfortable handhold, and they look slick! Check out these prototypes for the Stormrider, Chaser, Bandit etc.

A few more noteworthy points. We will be in a feature article in Airgun World Magazine soon for our Beeman 2027 Tactical Conversion kit. Pretty cool. Keep a lookout for that. Also, we fulfilled 95 orders today! I never imagined that we would be at this point when I started all this. Especially all out of our little house and garage! I know, Lord willing, we have much more growing to do yet. Thank you for your support and thank you for your business! I don’t take it for granted. New Product Release 11/11/2022

New Product Release!

Hey folks. I’m still here…

A lot has been happening behind the scenes at Buck Rail. We moved out the old print shed to make room for a bigger better one. We overhauled our manufacturing and fulfillment process. Improved the design of a lot of our parts. Crashed the website a couple of times. Fixed the website and improved the backend. And biggest of all, my big brother and big sister came to work with us. That means there are four of us in total now. I’d like to introduce you all to them soon.

I haven’t had much time to design new products, but this one has been done and was waiting for me to take pics, video, write stuff, etc. So without further ado, meet the one and only (that I know of) Diana Bandit, Chaser, and Airbug Side Folder.

It was a bit tricky to get the Rear Pic tight, but it ended up being a simple solution. I made a simple install video that you can check out below:

Crosman ICON Tactical Conversion Kits

New Product Release

Just a quick update. The Crosman ICON Tactical Conversion Kits are now listed. I promised they’d be up by the end of the week. They are up, but probably won’t stay in stock for long. That’s because I only have 4 complete sets in stock. I have more printing and will have them put together and back in stock quickly.

The ICON Barrel Bands will be released sometime next week. After that I’m going to take a little break from designing for a bit. Orders will still be fulfilled and customer service will still be open. I’ll just take a step back and be quiet for at least a couple of weeks before I get back to cranking out new products.

Benjamin P-Rod Side Folders Are Here

Benjamin P-Rod Side Folders Are Here

I’ve just listed the Rear Pic Rails for the Benjamin Marauder Pistol. It’s just a pic rail and a screw, nothing special, but it hasn’t been done as far as I know. Since I don’t have to have a metal adapter machined the price is low as well. You can now easily and cheaply mount a side folding stock on the Benjamin Marauder Pistol with this adapter and the Poor Man’s Side folder (or another 1913 Picatinny Side Folder). Crosman Side Folders

New Product Update 9/1/2022

Just a quick update on the Poor Man’s Side Folders. I’ve released the rear-facing picatinny adapters for mounting the side folders on the Crosman 13XX, 2240, etc.

Poor Man’s Side Folder

I never announced it, but I’ve also added a cheaper minimalist fixed-LOP option. There was something wrong with “The Poor Man’s Side Folder” costing $80 (Still way cheaper than any option I currently know of). Just to ensure that it lives up to it’s name I added a cheaper option that turned out pretty slick. You now have the option to choose from adjustable side folding stock or fixed side folder.

Rear Pic Adapter Plans

So far, I’ve made the side folder compatible with the Hatsan Sortie, Beeman 2027, and now the Crosman 13XX, 2240, etc. I’ve also completed a design for the DIANA BANDIT, CHASER, AND AIRBUG. It should be a couple of weeks before I get the aluminum parts for those, but I will release the adapters as soon as I get that in. I have some things to work out for the MARAUDER PISTOL adapter, but I should have that ready next. Fortunately it doesn’t need any machined parts, so I’ll be able to get that to market faster. Here’s a P-Rod preview:

Crosman ICON Tactical Conversion

These are done. I just need to take pictures, make install video, edit, and list them. The Beeman 2027 and Crosman ICON are very similar. The Grip Adapter and Stuck Tube are almost identical, but for a few minor differences. The kit uses the barrel band as a mounting point for the forearm. There will only be one forearm option on this one. I’ll also add a couple of barrel bands to the mix. Here’ a preview of how that turned out:

What’s Next?

Some of you may remember that I was testing a direct fit suppressor for the AEA HP SS Max a while back. We’ve had a lot of inquireies since then for the AEA airguns and other big bores. I ended up not selling it because the threads were too fine and were easily cross-threaded during installation. I decided against the direct fit route and went with a threaded adapter from DFL and a suppressor with metal threads from yours truly. I’ve worked up the suppressors in M18X1 for .357 and .457. I’ve tested them on a couple of 357 AEA’s and the Air Force Texan 457. I need to do more extensive testing, but they seem to hold up well, they definitely work well, and look slick. Whether or not I release them after all this will depend on how busy we are and if testing goes okay. If none of this stuff sells well I’ll probably put those out there too and then take a break from designing new stuff for a while. Check ’em out!

Poor Man’s Side Folders

The Poor Man’s Side Folder is Here

I’ve just listed the Poor Man’s Side Folders! They work great, they look good, and they’re cheap. Here it is on the Hatsan Sortie.

Stay tuned for an even cheaper fixed length buttstock option. Also to come; side folder adapters for the Crosman 1377/1322 and 2240.

In the video below I demonstrate the installation of the side folder on the Hatsan Sortie and open and closed one a thousand times with very little wear. I also mention a few things about using the side folder on the Beeman 2027.

I’ve also added a new option to the Beeman 2027 tactical conversion kit. You can now choose from the standard lower or from a lower with a rear facing pic rail for side folder compatibility. One advantage of using the Poor Man’s Side Folder on the Beeman 2027 is that you will still have access to the hammer spring adjustment. Just fold the stock over and you now have access the the adjustment screw.

The hole just about the pic rail slot aligns with the power adjustment screw.

The new Red Dots make for a good combo with this kit as well. I know it looks like the magazine blocks the sight picture, but it doesn’t show in the glass at all.

Milspec A2 Grips

Some other news; I’ve switched suppliers for the Milspec A2 grips. I’ve found another American manufacturer who makes a better grip with a much cleaner fit and finish. All of our conversion kits will now include these new grips.

Micro Red Dots, Adapters, and Crosman Mounts

New Product Announcement 7/29/22

This is just a quick update to let y’all know that I’ve released a few new products and to tell you what’s next.

1X20 Micro Red Dots

I’ve noticed a lot of our customers using these Micro Red Dots. I’ve only recently tried one myself and can certainly see the appeal. So we’re offering them for sale! Check those out here: https://buck-rail.com/product/1×20-red-dot-sight/

Crosman Scope Mounts

The 1X20 Red Dots are only available in Picatinny/Weaver bases and they have a screw right through the middle. This means that the Red Dots would need to be centered over one of our Crosman Scope mounts and there would be a little too much daylight on each side. I’ve added an option to the Crosman Scope Mounts to select a single extended mount. I think the 1X20 Micro Red Dot looks better with this scope mount than with the short set of 2.

Dovetail to Picatinny Adapters

If you have a steel breech on your Crosman, or if you’d like to mount one of these Red Dots on any airgun with dovetail grooves you will need some sort of riser or adapter to go from 3/8 inch or 11mm dovetail to Picatinny/Weaver. What’s Next?

Poor Man’s Side Folder – The next product release will be the poor man’s side folder and a compatible lower/grip adapter for the Beeman 2027. I have all the parts for these and we are assembling a few everyday. I just need to get pictures and product pages done. I’m thinking by the end of next week, August 5th.

Stormrider – After that I plan on releasing the Gen I and Gen II Diana Stormrider tactical conversions. Designs are done and I think they are awesome. I’m super excited about these.

Crosman ICON – I’ve completed a design for a Tactical Conversion kit for the Crosman ICON. That will be released once I’m done with the Stormriders. I will also have a barrel band for this one.

Side Folder Adapters – The designs for the Crosman 13XX and 2240 side folder adapters are done. I’m just waiting on another manufacturer for the steel parts.

I’m getting burned out again. I won’t shut the business down this time, but I might take a break after all these are done and try to recharge my batteries before attempting another manic design session. We’ll keep chipping away on the business end. Speaking of which, we’ve been running out of space for a while. I have some ideas for how we can make more room. In the meantime, once we get all of these products released I’m sure we’ll be overcommitted. My plan is, essentially, to overcommit first and then deal with the consequences afterward. Wish me luck!

Beeman 2027, Diana Stormrider, and Other News…

Howdy folks! It’s been a while. Here’s an update on what I’ve been working on.

Beeman 2027 Tactical Conversion

Poor Man’s Side Folder

I’ve recently found myself searching for a reasonably priced side folder that is also good looking. I’ve found some that were good looking and some that were reasonably priced, but I couldn’t find both. I hope to remedy that with the “Poor Man’s Side Folder”. Don’t be fooled by the name. It is compact, good looking, locks open, locks closed, adjustable LOP, and will be compatible with multiple airguns. The design and testing are complete (Tested on the Sortie). I have all the parts (Metal hinge pin, E-Clip, Springs, screws, nuts, etc.) I have the custom steel parts on order for mounting it to the Crosman 2240 and 13XX (no power adjusters… sorry). It will also be compatible with the Beeman 2027 Lower, mentioned above, and I will work on an adapter for the Diana Bandit, Chaser, and Airbug next.

Diana Stormrider Tactical Conversion

Since I released the Diana Tactical Conversion kit a common request has been to make one for the Diana Stormrider. The Gen I seems to be backordered everywhere, so I will need to wait to see what I would need to do for that one. I do, however, have a Gen II and have worked up a nice little kit for it. 1X20 Mini Red Dots

I’ve noticed a lot of our customers mounting 1X20 and 1X25 Red Dots using our Crosman Mounts. A single mount, from a set of 2, can be used to mount one of these, but they don’t quite look right. I’ll be extending the Crosman 2240 and 13XX mounts to match one of these red dots and offering them as an option. Here’s what I mean:

These Red Dots will be available at a great price from us soon. We’ll also be offering low-profile dovetail to Picatinny adapters if you’re looking to mount one on a Diana Chaser, Bandit, Airbug, or any other airguns with dovetail grooves. Stay tuned for that!

Beeman 1357 and 1358 Suppressor

I believe this suppressor is our most affective to date. I’m very proud of it. We’ve sold a humble 92 so far. I have only heard good things from folks who’ve used it, but haven’t had a single review come through for some reason. If you’re one of those lucky 92 please consider letting other customers know that it doesn’t suck.

Coming Soon: Price Increases

Starting Friday, July 1st, we’ll be raising prices on many of our items.

I don’t take this lightly, so let me give you a lengthy explanation. This business started as a lesson for my kids. At the time, I was a full-time welder in the Oil and Gas industry and a hobbyist designer and 3d printer. After developing the Little Buck Rail for my daughter to use a Red Dot on the Daisy Buck I thought other folks may want one too and started a little business that would be operated mostly by them. My eldest son would 3d print Little Buck Rails, and him and little sister would write thank you notes with hand drawn pictures. Mom would ship and they’d make a few bucks here and there.

Confession time: Not intending to do anything more than the Little Buck Rail, I wanted to name the website “buckrail.com”. Unfortunately, that domain name was taken by a news company in Jackson, Wyoming. So I made the brilliant decision to add a hyphen between buck and rail. I guess that’s better than “A1Airguns.com” (I just looked it up. That’s a real domain…) Can you even look up websites in alphabetical order?…

Anyway, we’re coming up on three years in business. Much to my amazement, and the amazement of friends and family, we’ve grown way beyond a business lesson or side-gig (I left full-time employment in the Aerospace industry in November 2021) and will likely grow beyond a home-based business soon.

If you look carefully, you can see when I got burned out, took vacation, considered closing down, then quit my job and went for it.

Our product line has expanded rapidly and we’re only just getting started. There is way more demand for this stuff than I imagined and will work hard to be the one that provides it. We now keep almost 40 3d printers running 24/7 and barely keep up with demand. The only reason we don’t run more is because we’ve maxed out our breaker box (I’m working on that!). Instead of raising prices to match demand we just work harder and longer hours and find ways to decrease costs and increase production while still providing great value products. This has worked well for us so far and has allowed us to keep prices low while everything is going up elsewhere. With that being said, the cost of doing business has increased significantly as we’ve scaled up. In order to continue providing great products at great prices I need to increase prices. I’ll continue working hard to make our products accessible to the little guys and provide the BEST VALUE out there.

Speaking of value, check out what my fellow Texan and Buck-Rail.com customer did earlier this year. He bought a suppressor from us for $20 or $25 (the older UNF suppressor with helical insert and smooth finish), took a very blurry picture of it, and auctioned it on eBay, with little to no description, for over $40!

Unfortunately, I didn’t keep up with it long enough to see how high it sold for. There was still a day left with 12 watchers!
