I used to shoot a Rugger Mark lV in .22 cal in club target matches. Good gun. But moving several times into areas with few ranges kept me from shooting for many years. Now with the cv19 raging was not a good time to go to target shooting. I used to shoot break barrel air guns as a kid so that was my first choice. However the good ones were 18″ long and can get costly, also several reported hard cocking.

In reading reviews I kept coming across the Crossman 1377 and 1322 as good accurate guns, and the price was right for a backyard paper target puncher. So I got the 1377 pistol. Very nice , well made, good trigger, quiet, fine as it is out of the box and a good shooter. Its easy to pump. I used three to five pumps, it gets harder after that. However I found that my eyesight was not good for iron sights anymore so I looked at various optics.

I found the open refractive sight, frequently called red dot sight, recommended for pistols. This sight has both red and green with several power settings and patterns.. I prefer the green dot as it is more visible .

In looking around for mounts and sight I came across this combination mounts and Hawkeye sight from Buck- Rail for $30. So I err… pulled the trigger. Very impressive the mounts were nice with two screws in each and the scope was well made with good clear dot. Has red /green combo power setting, and several sight settings, Took a bit of shooting from a rest getting used to the gun, once I got groupings I knew which way to move the sight and after a few adjustments to dial it in and than it was up to me.

See the install video. Being warned about the nuts that can fly off into the fifth dimension, I put tape over them to keep them in place , the info about removing the front bolt and aligning it with the notch in mounts was a big help.

I see no reason for any of the other customizing options for this gun. It works well, is well made, and with the reflex sight it is accurate. Nice to use both eyes instead of being glued to iron sights or scope.

The sights on my 1377 were still high at 15 yards even at the lowest setting and so I needed to put another sight on it for my shooting purposes. I didn’t want to spend the money on a steel breech and hadn’t seen good reviews on the intermount scope mounts, many saying they were not stable and moved easily. I came across a review on the buck rail mounts and they looked really solid so I checked out the buck rail website with the intention of just getting the mounts and look for a scope or red dot sight somewhere else. I came across the scope mount/red dot bundle and it was on sale for$29.00 total, with free shipping, so I ordered it. Got it yesterday and installed today and the sight mounts are great! They fit perfectly and are rock solid! I mounted the red dot and it mounts up great and is solid as well. The sight looks like it is mostly metal and well made but when I was going through all of the optional dot configurations both green and red, before mounting the red dot, the lowest setting wasn’t working, if I would go back to a higher setting and then go back to the lowest setting it would come on. This happened with both the red and green dots. After I mounted the red dot on the gun, they seem to be working ok now. I have not had a chance to sight it in yet but hopefully the lower settings will continue to work because that seems to be the best setting for me. I am excited to get it sighted in and see how it works. This sight looks identical to center point red dots and some of the other red dots in the$40.00 range. For the price and free shipping, I think this is a great deal, as long as the red dot performs going forward. There was not any kind of warranty or company information on the red dot sight so I am not sure of what remedy is available if it doesn’t work. In conclusion, these buck rail mounts are a great product and the mounts and red dot combo is a great deal and service was excellent too!

Update to initial review- sighted in today, started at 5 yds. and was about 2 1/2″ high was able to get it to about an 1″ low and get windage adjusted quickly. Took target out to 13 yds. ,which is what I want for a zero, and fine tuned it. Was able to get dime size groups from a rest consistently and locked it down. Just used the 3 brightness setting on the dot and tried the circle with a dot and both were on target. Seems to be a very nice sight for the money!

Ordered these a week ago. They had notified that they received my order by the next day and it shipped. I was able to follow the package via pay pal and USPS right to my front door for free!. I was mostly interested in a budget means of securing the barrel within the plastic breach and barrel bands and the scope mounts do this perfectly. Slid on the red dot put the battery in and familiarized myself with the sight and was hitting perfectly in 8 shots. All I can say is thanks dude for creating this combo and putting out there for us that do not want to go hog wild modifying these classics but want a good shooter. Mine is primarily built to kill rats around the chicken coop and bird feeder at night but something tells me its going to be fun plinker also. Best 29.99 I have spent in a long time.

Received the mounts and red dot sight about a week ago, installed on my 1322. Very solid mounts, no movement. Shooting targets at about 13m, sight is stable. Shipment arrived one day early. Since am in another state did not have to pay tax. Happy customer, think I will order some parts for my 2240.

Love the mounts. Love the price. Easy to install. Good grip to the barrel. No rolling, no slip. Solid lock. The Hawkeye red/green dot sight can’t be beat for the price. Was going to pay 39 dollars for a steel breech to mount a sight. Even more money for a sight + shipping cost. Who would not love this combo at this price. I will be buying other products from Buck Rail in the near future. I am impressed by this little family business, and wish them a very heart felt all the best. Stay warm folks I know it is rough times for winter storm torn Texans right now. Praying for you all.

My first time buying or using a dot sight and am thoroughly impressed with the Buck Rail combo for my 1377. Very easy to mount, easy to zero in, and very stable. My little knock down targets from 30 feet didn’tcstandxa chance. Thank you Buck-Rail.

Unbelievable deal. Mounted this combo on my 1322 and within minutes I was hitting right on target. Still cannot believe what a great bargain and how well this works for the price. Going to order one for my 2240 as well. Thanks Buck Rail.

Just now ordered my 3rd mount and red dot bundle. Since real ammo is too hard to find and too expensive if you can I turned to air guns as a way to still have fun and practice and now have 3 crossman pellet pistols. Each of which will have this combo riding on top. In just one word, phenomenal

Very pleased with the picatinny mount and the red dot. Tight fit and easy to use + cheap. Thanks a lot for making it possible and shipping it to Denmark 😊😎

I got the scope mounts and red dot bundle after purchasing my Crosman 1377 six months ago after watching a video on YouTube when I was looking for inexpensive options to using the sights furnished with the pistol which I have a hard time using because of my aging eyesight and this is perfect! After months of constant use the mounts are still tight and the red dot is extremely accurate. I recently added the Crosman 1322 from Pyramyd Air and that same night I ordered this kit for it because I knew it worked. If Terry makes it and you need it, buy it, it’s that simple! From one veteran to another – THANKS
