This adapter replaces the stock shroud cap, baffles, baffle cap, and air stripper. It is machined from one solid piece of aluminum to lock all these features together and keep the barrel concentric with the suppressor threads. If you are having accuracy issues on your SUPPRESSED Airacuda or Airacuda Max this is the fix.
A note form Donny: Because this adapter was made to fit both the Standard and Max versions of the Airacuda, and because of the variations between individual rifles, you may find that one or two threads remain exposed when you snug the adapter in place. This is normal, and will not effect the performance of the rifle. In fact, our testing has revealed that a longer or heavier moderator can be used with less risk of clipping as compared to the endcap-only style adapter. It was necessary to design in this flexibility to overcome the challenges of this airgun’s shroud design so that moderators can be used.
No instructions are provided with this part. The only somewhat challenging part is removing the baffle cap. The best tool for this is a pair of snap ring pliers. If you own a pair of those you probably don’t need instructions. For all others, you can get away with sticking a couple of small allen wrenches in the holes, holding the allens in place and turning the ring CCW with a screwdriver between the allens. If I don’t see an instructional video on this soon I’ll likely do one myself. If you’re not comfortable with this please don’t buy it. Maybe see if you can get it off first before you spend the money.

I did some research about this DonnyFL Adapter and I knew that if I got it, it wouldn't be for sound suppression, but rather it would be to fix my rifle's sudden inaccuracy. I don't know how other people got it to quiet down their rifle without a moderator, but mine was definitely way louder without the baffles that came with the stock.
Before adding the new adapter and a Buck-Rail suppressor, my dB reading was between 102-106. After installing the adapter and adding the moderator it started to read at 100dB consistently. Without the Moderator, it was around 109-113 dB. However, I must say that it does sound quieter with this new setup and the sound is more like a "PINK" sound which is starting to grow on me.
My accuracy improved dramatically, whatever issues I was having before was completely fixed with the new adapter. From my own personal experience, It shoots better without a moderator, but it still shoots pretty darn great with one on there.
Lastly, the process of taking the stock baffle and adding this new adapter was fairly simple. For reference you can skip to 3:50 on this video by dw Harris https://youtu.be/qALSoqGTtIo?si=1CoWU8FOvb3Cyz6p to see how to do it, or you can remove the shroud completely and pop them out like I did. Pretty simple procedure.
Anyway, hope this review helped.
Happy shooting!
Clipping totally eliminated and every shot was even quieter…with the moderator installed! I recommend that one purchases it for the AIRACUDA Max. I will be doing this for my .30 “Max” next!
