I was going to call and see if this can be done.
Cylinder. Maybe should add a bit more volume to the first section?
MADE IN USA!!
The standard balles for the Lelya are super quiet, BUT, adapt it with the offset adapter to 1/2-UNF with the Eaglevision, and spin one of these on here (I chose .30 cal version to use on multiple airguns) and basically you're listening for the slug to smack. Like literally soundless. Perfect for backyard fun.
Thanks Buck-Rail.
👍
Truly a great product and reliable / sturdy construction ,even when repeatedly taken apart and put back together . I am actually thinking of purchasing a second one in the same .22 caliber .
Stock I got 75 dbs
Stock 5 baffles + breather holes 70 dbs
modded 8 baffles + breather holes 67 dbs
Stock STO Falx as baseline 70 dbs
I'm going to give it a 5 star rating, BUT there is just ONE (maybe minor) thing you should know prior to purchasing the new moderator.
THE ONE THING: It's not any quieter than the normal Buck-Rail suppressor, but it might be just as effective. I took a 5 shot string of both moderators and here's what I got from the shooter's perspective:
New Buck-Rail Modular Suppressor:
#1 - 101
#2 - 101
#3 - 103
#4 - 102
#5 - 102
Normal Buck-Rail Suppressor:
#1 - 101
#2 - 103
#3 - 103
#4 - 101
#5 - 101
I've tested both of these on an FX DRS Classic in 600mm/.22 on it's factory settings and this baby can BARK! On a dB meter, it ranges anywhere from 104-112 without a moderator (depending on where I shoot it). In my opinion, the original Buck-Rail suppressor sounds just a little quieter, but not by too much. Regardless, both suppressors make it sound relatively quiet from my perspective. Granted, I just received the new moderator today and I've only tested it in an environment in which there is limited space, but no doubt that they'd sound a lot quieter in a more wide open area.
Now, I gave it a 5 star rating because of the overall quality of the suppressor. It's Modular, meaning you can adjust it based on the application of your shooting purposes. Hunting, target practice, plinking, etc.. For this test I used all 5 baffles and did a little bit of target practice. My groupings were still tight, I didn't notice any POI shift, nor did I experience any clipping from the variety of pellets I've used so far (15, 18, 22, & 25gr pellets in .22 caliber).
Feels lighter than I expected, sturdy but not hard, very simple and easy to use. Overall, it's a great suppressor. Obviously, my personal experience with this product might differ from your experience, but this was just my honest review of the latest suppressor from Buck-Rail.
Moving forward with this suppressor, I would like for it to have a little more character. I know that this product is just barely starting out, but it would be awesome to get one with a Buck-rail logo printed on there, or even one with interchangeable end caps for various calibers (Perhaps that's part of the plan, I'll have to re-read the blog).
Anyway, this is a great product. It might not offer any additional sound suppression, but I like it so far and if anything changes, I'll come back for an update.
Great stuff, Terry!
